SPHS Graduation will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

 

  • COUNTDOWN
    • May 4-15 AP Exams

Obligations

    • Textbooks/Library Books
      •  All books from previous years must be turned in by May 13th to pick up your cap & gown.
      • Your current textbooks are due by 10:00am on graduation day.
      • Look for an email from the Library to notify you of outstanding textbooks and library books
    • Chromebooks
      • Turn in to Ms. Kwok / Mr. Smith when you no longer need it, at the latest by June 2 immediately after the mandatory graduation practice
      • There is a $300 charge for missing Chromebooks
    • Financial: You will receive an email from the Student Bank if you have outstanding financial obligations
    • Academic: You may be given an academic hold slip from your counselor if you are earning a D or F (or a grade of “C with an in danger of failing” teacher notation) in a course needed for graduation.  Holds will only be lifted once your final passing grade has been posted

Any senior involved in defacing or causing disruption to the campus or graduation setup will not be allowed to participate in graduation activities, including the Graduation Ceremony.

Cap & Gown Distribution

    • May 14 Wednesday at 2:45-4:00 pm
    • in the SAC Room
    • after all obligations have been cleared.

Senior Yearbook Distribution & Signing Party

    • May 22 Thursday at 2:45-4:00pm on the Tiger Patio 
    • Mamma’s Pizza and garlic knots will be servd as you sign all your friends’ yearbooks!
    • Head to the Tiger Patio to pick up yearbooks from Copa staff before grading a slice of pizza and some knots!
    • Only seniors will be able to pick up yearbooks at the signing party
  •  

College Signing Day athletes 

    • May 21 Thursday at 5:30pm in the Main Gym 
    • A ceremony to celebrate all SPHS students who are going on to play sports at college!
  •  

Farewell Assembly

    • May 28 Thursday at 11:45pm in the SPHS Main Gym
    • The last assembly of the year to celebrate our Seniors!

Senior Awards Night

    • May 27 Wednesday at 6:30-9:00pm in the SPHS Auditorium
    • To recognize and celebrate seniors who are recipients of scholarships and awards
    • Students will receive a postcard at school if they are an award recipient
    • Recipients will be seated in the front of the auditorium
    • Dress appropriately: no jeans, shorts, mini-skirts/dresses
    • All students, parents, family and friends are invited. No tickets necessary.

Baccalaureate

    • May 31 Sunday at 5-6pm in the Anderson Auditorium
    • A celebration to honor the senior class with a keynote speaker
    • The night will feature speeches and performances by the senior class
    • All family members are invited, no tickets are required
    • This highly regarded family event is optional, yet every senior is encouraged to attend
    • Seniors can wear their caps & gowns with any preferred cords and sashes 

Graduation Rehearsal

    • June 2 Tuesday at 1:15-3:15 pm in the SPHS Gym
    • Practice is Mandatory for those walking in graduation. 
    • Your 5 Graduation tickets are distributed afterwards. 
    • What to Expect
      • Receive your seat assignment and walking order
      • Practice the procession from the gym onto the field
      • Dress comfortably, bring a hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, and water
      • Students will each receive 5 graduation tickets at the end of practice

Senior Sunset

    • June 2 Tuesday at 6:00pm on the Tiger Patio
    • It’s a great time to sign yearbooks and be together with your class.

 

  • Graduation Ceremony Details
    • Wednesday June 3 at 5:00-6:00 pm
    • Graduates need to arrive at the gym in their graduation attire by 4:00 pm
    • Leave keys, phones, leis, cords and sashes (except CSF), and other valuables with your family
    • Individuals with disabilities may sign up using the Google Form provided in the graduation packet by May 29th to receive early access and special seating
  • Attendees at the Ceremony
    • Gates at the North and South entrances on Meridian will open at 4:30pm
    • All attendees must have their own ticket (including children, no lap seating)
    • Seating is on a first come basis
    • No seats may be saved. Attendees must enter together to sit together
    • No food or drink in the stadium except for bottled water
    • Noisemakers and items such as balloons and umbrellas that block the view or others are not allowed
    • Only graduates and staff are allowed on the Stadium Field
    • Guests are expected to remain in their seats for the ENTIRE ceremony
    • The ceremony will be live-streamed by SPHSASB
  • After the Ceremony

    • Graduates will exit to the baseball field
    • Borrowed caps & gowns need to be returned to the designated table before picking up your diploma
    • Diplomas will be picked up at your counselor’s table
    • Guests will meet graduates on the baseball field
  • GRADUATION ATTIRE
    • There are regulations on what students can and can not wear for in person graduation that are being updated as we write this. More to come in May!!!
    • All seniors who march in the graduation procession must wear the regulation black and white cap & gown

  • Appropriate Graduation Attire Expectations:
    • SOLID COLORS ONLY. NO PRINTS (they show through the gown) 
    • SHIRTS WITH TIE: solid colored, long-sleeve, button down
    • PANTS: long pants only. NO shorts or jeans
    • DRESSES: solid colored, NO prints, length should be shorter than hem of the gown
    • SHOES: dress shoes with socks, flats, wedges or sandals with back straps are acceptable. NO tennis shoes, sneakers, flip-flops, stilettos, or pointy heels allowed on the turf field

    • Cap/Mortarboard
      • Do Not Decorate
      • The Mortarboard must sit parallel to the ground. Use bobby pins to secure
      • The Tassel begins on the right side of the cap
    • Cords & Sashes
      • For Baccalaureate: Any academic cord or cultural sash will be allowed with prior administrator approval
      • For Graduation Ceremony: CSF Cord only and cultural regalia

Grad Nite

    • June 7 Sunday at 6:00 pm to 3:00 am  
    • Grad Nite 2026 will be held at Disney’s California Adventure
    • Students pre-buy tickets ahead of time and leave from SPHS at 6:00pm, returning at 3:00am. Fun is had by all.
